BREAKING: IGP Usman Alkali, Orders Immediate Arrest Of Seun Kuti

The immediate arrest of Nigerian Afrobeat musician Seun Kuti has been mandated by Inspector General of Police Usman Alkali Baba.

Nigerians demanded the singer’s arrest in response to the revolting footage, claiming he had no right to touch the policeman.

The musician recently revealed on his Instagram stories that the policeman had attempted to kill both him and his family, which is why he had lunged at the cop.

He added that he will not file charges because he has evidence to support his assertions.

He also issued a warning to those demanding his arrest to mind their own business.

The IGP, according to a statement by Benjamin Hundeyin, spokesman for Lagos State Command, condemned the crime.

Additionally, Akali Baba placed a prompt and full investigation into the cause of the assault and prosecution of Seun Kuti.

The statement reads, “The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, CFR has ordered the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command to arrest Afrobeat singer, Seun Kuti, who was captured on video assaulting a police officer in uniform.

“The IGP has equally ordered a speedy and full investigation into the remote and immediate cause(s) of the assault and prosecution of the suspect accordingly.

“IGP Usman Alkali Baba assures Nigerians that acts of contempt/disdain for symbols of authority will not be tolerated while offenders of such hideous crimes will be surely brought to book”
