BREAKING: Three West African Countries Ready For Negotiation With Ecowas Amid Political Crisis

The ECOWAS Commission has expressed its willingness to engage in dialogue with Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger, following their announcement of withdrawal from the regional bloc.

The Commission said it has not received any formal notification from the three countries, and urged them to remain within the community, which they described as “important members”.

The Commission also reiterated its commitment to finding a peaceful and negotiated solution to the political crisis that has engulfed the three countries since last year, when military coups toppled their democratically elected governments.

The ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government is expected to hold an emergency summit soon to discuss the situation and take appropriate measures to prevent the disintegration of the community.
