Brutal Stone Assault: Ex-Husband Attacks Woman Over Spiritual Marks On Children’s Head
A woman, Mary Olohunwa, is battling for her life at a hospital in Lagos after she was attacked by her ex-husband, Keji Ademola, with a stone over the marks she put on their children’s heads.
The incident happened on Thursday at Bako Estate in the Owode Onirin area of the state, where Mary runs a shop.
A relation of Mary, who spoke to PRISTINEGIST on Monday, said Ademola confronted Mary on her way to her shop and accused her of putting strange marks on their children’s heads.
Mary explained that the marks were for spiritual protection, but Ademola was not satisfied and hit her with a heavy stone, leaving her bleeding profusely.
She was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she is receiving treatment. Her relation said they were asked to pay N160,000 for her medical bills.
PRISTINEGIST obtained pictures and a video of the attack, which show Mary lying on the ground with a bloodied face and Ademola being apprehended by residents who witnessed the assault.
The relation said Ademola had been handed over to the police and was expected to be arraigned in court on Monday by 11 am.
She said this was the third time Ademola had tried to kill Mary, adding that they had separated three years ago due to his violent nature.
She said they had reported him to the Ketu Police Station before, but he was released without any sanction. She expressed hope that the police would not compromise on their duty this time.
The spokesperson for the state police command, Benjamin Hundeyin, could not be reached for comment.
