Businessman Commits Suicide After Losing Money In Bet

A Nigerian businessman, Onoh Chukwuma Richard, took his own life by drinking sniper, a pesticide, after losing a large amount of money in a bet.

Richard, who was the CEO of Faso Energy Limited, announced his intention to end his life on Facebook, where he posted a wordless video and a message saying: “Today is my last day on earth. I going to meet my maker.”

His friends tried to contact him and stop him, but it was too late. They found him in agony and rushed him to Madonna Hospital in Umuahia, where he was pronounced dead.

Richard was the same man who appeared in a viral video a few months ago, where he was seen shouting for help as a driver he had arrested tried to kidnap him. The video was widely circulated and used by comedians, skit makers and musicians.

He is survived by his elderly mother, who he often praised on his Facebook page. He had recently revealed that she wanted him to get married soon.
