Chelsea Football Club has announced the dismissal of Graham Potter from his role as Head Coach following the team’s recent home defeat to Aston Villa.

The announcement was made through an official club statement on Sunday.

The statement confirmed that Potter, the former Brighton manager, would be leaving the club. Meanwhile, the loss to Aston Villa at home was cited as the reason for his exit.

However, as a result of the defeat, Chelsea’s position on the Premier League table has slipped to 11th, with a 12-point deficit to fourth-placed Manchester United.

In the meantime, former Brighton defender Bruno has been appointed as interim head coach, with his first match in a charge being a home fixture against Liverpool on Tuesday.

In a statement released by Chelsea co-owners Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali, they expressed their gratitude to Potter for his contribution to the club and praised him for his professionalism and integrity.

They also confirmed their disappointment in the future outcome and affirmed their support for Bruno and the team for the rest of the season.

Potter joined Chelsea last September, replacing Thomas Tuchel who was sacked.

He sack today, 2nd of April, 2023.
