Chelsea Open Up Stamford Bridge To Muslims For Open Iftar In Ramadan

The London-based club, Chelsea Foundation, has announced a partnership with Ramadan Tent via which they will make their stadium available for Iftar during Ramadan. On March 26, Chelsea and Ramadan Tent will make Stamford Bridge available for Iftar purposes.

The side of the pitch at Stamford Bridge will be used to host an Open Iftar event on March 26, one of the days during Ramadan, Chelsea announced today via their official channels.

According to the club’s website, Open Iftar is the largest Ramadan community event in the UK. They are collaborating with the award-winning charity Ramadan Tent to allow Muslims to gather at Stamford Bridge to break their fast as well as provide “a peaceful and welcoming environment safe space for mutual dialogue and engagement.”

The Open Iftar will be held at Stamford Bridge in honor of the Ramadan Tent project’s 10th anniversary, according to CEO and founder Omar Salha.

According to the club’s website, Salha stated, “We are honored to offer Open Iftar to Stamford Bridge.

In honor of our tenth anniversary and our 2023 theme of “Belonging,” we collaborate with Chelsea FC, a team that has been a leader in promoting diversity in sports.

As a result, the “Pride of London” will host an Open Iftar event for the first time in Premier League history. Chelsea reaffirmed its dedication to the No to Hate campaign and stated that it views Ramadan as a way to promote its anti-discrimination and anti-hate programs.

It strives to inform all stakeholders, both inside and outside of Chelsea FC and football and is a club-wide initiative promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion.

The head of the Chelsea Foundation, Simon Taylor, was also reported on the website as expressing his happiness that Chelsea is the first Premier League team to take such a step and highlighting the significance of the Muslim community and encouraging religious tolerance to their work.

I’m excited to share that we will be hosting an open iftar in conjunction with the Ramadan Tent Project, and we are especially thrilled to be the first Premier League team to do so.

“A critical component of our work in advancing religious tolerance is acknowledging Ramadan and our Muslim community, and I am looking forward to welcoming everyone on Sunday, March 26.”
