Children’s Day: Top government appointees to grace 2024 charity shield of Kwara Kiddies League

 

As the country gears up to mark this year’s Children’s Day celebration on Monday, May 27, the board of the Kwara Kiddies YEG league has concluded plans to celebrate the kids participating in the league with charity shield game.

The Children’s Day celebration holds an important place in the calendar of the league which is now in its third season.

Reputed to be the biggest Kiddies football league in the country, the league has catalysed football development at the grassroots level in Nigeria given the standard of its organisation and fusion of modern approach to football development.

Speaking of the 2024 charity shield event, the COO of the league, Ibrahim Jatto stated that children’s day celebration remains an important event to the league,hence the idea of the symbolic event.

“The 2024 charity shield is another event to further showcase the rich talents that we have and the beauty of our football.

Jatto added that the event will also serve as an opportunity to raise funds and garner support for the league project.

Amongst the dignitaries expected the event is the Executive Chairman of Kwara State Sports Commission, Coach Bola Magaji;Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Kwara State, Honourable Senior Sulyman Ibrahim, and Commissioner for works, Honourable Abdulquawiy Olododo.

Also, Commissioner for Water Resources,Honourable Yunusa Lade ; Commissioner for Education and Humam Capital Development, Hajia Saadat Modibo Kawu and Commissioner for Youths, Honourable Nafisat Buge are amongst the guests to be treated with the best of kids football.

Others are the Chairman of the Kwara State Football Association,Mallam Idris Abdullahi Thuraya; Special Assistant on Drug Abuse Prevention and Control, Honourable Aileru Olamilekan Mikail; Special Assistant on Digital Innovation, Honourable Ishola Kayode and a host of others.

The charity shield which will begin at 10am will feature two important matches. First, the game between Kwara Football Academy boys and the Kiddies League 2023 team of the season will be followed by the qualifying playoff between HoneyKing FA and Flash bombers FA.

The Kwara Kiddies YEG league stands out with integration of data and statistics of player’s performance, good images and audio visuals, appraisal of outstanding performance and a weekly engagement of children which has drastically reduced social vices in the society.
