Corpse of NYSC Member Dumped in Bush by Unknown Killers

The Ogun State Police Command has launched a manhunt for the killers of a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, whose corpse was found dumped in a bush in the Kadesh area of Ogijo on Sunday.

The police said the identity of the deceased, who was estimated to be around 24 years old, was yet to be established, as no one had reported a missing person or filed a complaint of a missing relative.

According to the police spokesperson, Omotola Odutola, the case was reported by some residents who noticed a suspicious tricycle plying a route not meant for it. When they tried to investigate, they discovered the lifeless body of the corps member in the bush.

Odutola said the killers had fled the scene before the residents could catch them, leaving behind the tricycle and the corpse.

She said detectives from the Ogijo Division had cordoned off the area and taken the body to the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital Mortuary in Sagamu for autopsy.

She said the police had commenced an intensive investigation to unravel the motive and identity of the perpetrators of the heinous crime.

She appealed to the public to provide any useful information that could assist the police in solving the case.

She also urged NYSC members and other residents to be vigilant and report any suspicious movement or activity to the nearest police station.
