Davido: I Can’t Live Without Bible, Popcorn and Love
Nigerian pop star Davido has opened up about his personal life and the things he can’t live without in a candid interview with British GQ.
The singer, whose real name is David Adeleke, revealed that the Bible is one of his essentials, as he has a Bible app on his tablet that also has hymns and prayers. He said he reads the Bible every day and that it gives him peace and guidance.
Davido also listed popcorn, wallet, headphones, jewellery, sneakers, sunglasses, and toiletries bag as the other items he always carries with him. He explained that he loves popcorn because it makes movies more enjoyable. He said he watches movies every night before he sleeps and that he likes all kinds of genres, from action to comedy to romance.
The ‘Unavailable’ crooner also shared a surprising fact about himself: he cried while watching ‘Crazy Rich Asians’, the hit romantic comedy film that features an all-Asian cast. He said he was touched by the story of love and family and that he is a “lover boy” at heart.
Davido, who is one of the most successful and influential artists in Africa, has a loyal fan base that spans across the continent and beyond. He has won several awards, including the BET Award for Best International Act and the MTV Europe Music Award for Best African Act. He has also collaborated with international stars such as Chris Brown, Nicki Minaj, and Nas.
Davido is currently working on his fourth studio album, which he said will be a “masterpiece”. He said he is excited to share his new music with his fans and that he hopes to inspire and uplift people with his songs.
