Davido Prays for Wizkid as He Loses His Mother

Nigerian Afrobeats star, Davido, has sent his condolences to his fellow musician, Wizkid, who lost his mother, Mrs Jane Dolapo Balogun, on Friday.

According to Pristinegist, Mrs Balogun passed away in the early hours of Friday around 1.30 am at the age of 64. She was reportedly suffering from a chronic illness and had been hospitalized for some time.

Davido, who is known for his friendly rivalry with Wizkid, took to his Twitter page on Saturday to express his sympathy and support for his colleague. He wrote:

“Praying for you my brother @wizkidayo Sadness flies away on the wings of time. ❤️”

The tweet has since garnered over 100,000 likes and 20,000 retweets, as fans and celebrities joined Davido in praying for Wizkid and his family.

Wizkid, whose real name is Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, is one of the most successful and influential artists in Africa. He has won several awards, including four MTV Africa Music Awards, two BET Awards, and a Grammy Award. He is also known for his collaborations with international stars such as Drake, Beyoncé, and Chris Brown.

Wizkid has not yet made any public statement about his mother’s death.

However, he had previously expressed his love and gratitude for her in several interviews and songs. In 2012, he released a song titled “Joy”, which was dedicated to his mother. He also celebrated her birthday on July 4th last year with a heartfelt message on Instagram.

We at Bing News extend our heartfelt condolences to Wizkid and his family. May her soul rest in peace.
