Don’t Pay N3m Bride Price For A Girl Disvirgined With Urgent 2k – Reno Omokri

In a scathing critique of modern marriage practices, Reno Omokri has slammed the exorbitant bride price demands made by some families, calling it “modern-day extortion” and “poverty alleviation” schemes.

Omokri, a social commentator and former presidential aide, took to social media to caution men against falling prey to such demands, citing the modest wedding ceremony of Aliko Dangote’s daughter, where the bride price was a relatively modest ₦500,000.

He argued that any demand exceeding a reasonable amount, accompanied by lists of expensive items, is not a customary or traditional marriage but a ploy to exploit the groom financially.

Omokri emphasized that African bride price lists should comprise reasonable amounts and traditional items like kola nuts, livestock, and agricultural produce, not foreign luxury goods.

He questioned the logic of demanding millions when the bride’s parents live in modest circumstances, suggesting that such families are more interested in wealth than their daughter’s happiness.

Omokri advised successful young men to be cautious and not desperate, as they have alternatives and deserve peace in their marriages, not financial entrapment.

His message has sparked a heated debate on social media, with many praising his courage in speaking out against this controversial practice.
