Edo Taskforce Nabs 42-Year-Old Woman in Shrine Arrest

In a stunning operation, the Edo State Taskforce on Human Trafficking has apprehended a 42-year-old woman, Juliet Ukhurebor, for allegedly attempting to traffic a young lady to India for prostitution.

According to authorities, Ukhurebor was caught at her shrine in Benin City, where a native pot containing concoctions was seized as evidence.

The taskforce’s Secretary, Mrs. Pauline Irusota, revealed that the suspect was arrested alongside an accomplice, Joy Osawe, following a tip-off from a brave 25-year-old victim, Rita Godwin.

Ukhurebor allegedly forged documents and forced victims to take oaths to ensure their compliance. Her daughter in India was also implicated in the scheme.

The taskforce’s swift action has saved countless lives and brought a notorious trafficker to justice.
