Manchester City, an English Premier League team, plans to offer Erling Haaland a sizable contract.
The projected weekly salary on the new contract is £500,000.
Haaland would become the Premier League player with the highest salary after signing the new contract.
Haaland presently makes £375,000 per week, which places him alongside teammate Kevin De Bruyne and Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea at the top of the Premier League’s highest-paid athletes.
Haaland, a Norwegian striker who scored five goals in the Champions League Round 16, and 42 goals overall for Manchester City.
Due to his 22-year-old performance, Real Madrid has reportedly expressed interest in signing him in the summer of 2024. The player’s current contract is valid till 2027.
However, as part of the measures to keep Haaland’s services despite Real Madrid’s interest in him, Man City would be discussing a new contract with Haaland at the end of the season to prolong it by a year.
