Fake Lawyer Who Won 26 Cases Arrested In Kenya

A man who posed as a lawyer and won 26 cases in various courts in Kenya has been arrested by the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) Nairobi Branch.

Brian Mwenda, the fake lawyer, was detained by the Rapid Action Team (RAT) of the LSK Nairobi Branch after they received complaints from the public.

According to the LSK Nairobi Branch, Mwenda does not have a license to practice law in Kenya and he is not an advocate of the High Court of Kenya.

“Mwenda has been presenting and conducting himself as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and a member of LSK Nairobi Branch,” the LSK Nairobi Branch said in a statement.

The statement added that Mwenda had handled 26 cases before High Court Judges, Magistrates, and Court of Appeal Judges, all of which he won.

The LSK Nairobi Branch said that Mwenda’s actions were a “gross violation” of the law and an “affront” to the legal profession.

Mwenda is currently being held at the RAT’s main office while an investigation is ongoing.

The LSK Nairobi Branch urged the public to verify the credentials of any lawyer they intend to engage with and report any suspicious cases to them.
