FG Takes Action on Third Mainland Bridge with Closure and Repairs

The Federal Government (FG) has declared its intention to temporarily shut down the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos, commencing from midnight on Saturday, October 21, and concluding at midnight on Sunday, October 22, to facilitate essential repairs.

According to Mrs. Olukorede Kesha, the Federal Controller of Works in Lagos State, who released an official statement on Thursday, the government is gearing up for an extensive rehabilitation project on the bridge, commencing with the repair of critical segments.

Kesha mentioned that the federal government is committed to informing the motoring public about its comprehensive repair plans for the Third Mainland Bridge.

She also noted that, to alleviate the current inconveniences experienced on the bridge, the Ministry will conduct immediate palliative work on the most severely affected sections along the Adeniji bound carriageway on Sunday, October 22, in preparation for the comprehensive repair effort.

Kesha strongly advised motorists to explore alternate routes during the palliative work period, as the Adeniji bound side of the bridge will be inaccessible from Saturday, October 21, until midnight on Sunday, October 22.
