Former Governor’s Aide Threatens Legal Action Over Naira Marley’s Anti-Drug Campaign

Ossai Ovie Success, a former aide to Delta State’s ex-Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, is prepared to pursue legal action against the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) if Nigerian music sensation Afeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, is spotted smoking again after his collaboration with the agency.

Naira Marley recently expressed his endorsement for the agency’s battle against drug misuse among the youth, teenagers, and his fanbase known as “Marlians.”

The NDLEA’s selection of Naira Marley as an advocate has triggered diverse reactions across social media platforms.

On this matter, Ovie Success took to his Facebook profile and questioned whether Naira Marley had genuinely ceased his smoking habit before being embraced by the NDLEA.

In his statement, Ovie Success emphasized, “I am prepared to initiate legal action against the NDLEA should I observe Naira Marley engaging in smoking in any of his music videos or in public. Furthermore, I extend this to any artist affiliated with his record label who is also seen smoking.”

He added, “It is my hope that Naira Marley has indeed refrained from smoking prior to receiving compensation from the NDLEA for his anti-smoking and anti-drug advocacy.”

“I am closely monitoring his actions, as I am keenly interested in the success of this campaign,” Ovie Success concluded.
