Four Black UK Health Workers Jailed For Abusing Elderly Patient

Four healthcare workers have been sentenced to prison for physically and emotionally abusing an elderly patient with dementia, according to The BBC.

The workers, Ame Tunkara, Morountaro Adefila, Danny Ohen and Bridget Aideyan, were found guilty of ill-treatment and wilful neglect and jailed for four to six months.

The police said that the workers were caught on camera mistreating the 89-year-old woman, who could not speak, at a care home in London.

The woman’s family had installed a hidden camera in her room in February 2020, after noticing bruises on her arm.

The footage showed the woman being hit with a pillow, dragged across the bed, and mocked by the workers.

The woman died in October, and a police official said that she deserved better care and compassion in her final days.
