Godfrey Okoye University Offers Scholarship To 2023 UTME Overall Best Candidate

 

JAMB, the overall top student in the 2023 UMTE, has been given a full scholarship by Rev. Fr. Christian Anieke, Vice-Chancellor of Godfrey Okoye University, GOU, Enugu.

Additionally, a full scholarship was extended to the student to attend Godfrey Okoye College of Medicine.

Mr. Anieke said it while giving a car to the first male student “Vice Chancellor For One Day” of GUO on Friday in Enugu.

By earning 337 points in the recently finished JAMB exam, Lotanna Azuokeke, who was born in Anambra, broke the previous record.

A 15-year-old child named Mr. Azuokeke is reportedly a student at Bishop Otubelu Juniorate in Trans Ekulu, Enugu, and a native of ba in the Idemmili South Local Government Area.

Details of his score were: English: 64; Mathematics: 99; Physics: 86 and Chemistry: 88, totalling 337.

A 400L student at the university named Vitalis Iloanuwusi won the title of GUO VC for one day after achieving a cumulative grade point average of 5.O over the course of two semesters, making him the first male to hold the position.

In response to the situation, Mr. Anieke stated, “The VC is offering this exceptional student a full scholarship to study in our college of medicine, and this is in line with my passion for education and desire to empower young people and make them extraordinary.”

Mr. Anieke went on to say that the adolescents needed a system that could subdue them and emphasized that with help, they could accomplish a lot and compete with their peers throughout the world.

“Watch our under-17 and 21-year-olds, they can perform fabulously well. I believe in what Nigerian youths can accomplish, and GOU has given them a voice to demonstrate their strength, he remarked.

The vice chancellor, for VC for a day, stated that the institution adopted it to inspire students, adding that when you pushed students, they would succeed on their own.

He emphasized that the fact that those who had been pupils for just one day were now living incredibly successful lives was proof that the program was effective.

“We think that once people experience success, they will yearn for more from life, and I think Vitalis will not settle for anything less than greatness now that he has assumed the position of VC.

“He has addressed senate of the university, University’s secondary school and its group of institutions,” Mr Anieke said.

Alphonsus Nwafor, the donor, gave pupils a car as a gift and urged them to have clear goals for attending school, noting that Iloanuwusi had a vision that helped him set the record.

Iloanuwusi became the first male student to gain the position after he challenged guys after learning that only female students were emerging as the VC for one day in the school.

In order to even it out, he said that the victory present will also be given to female students who won the position. He also said that the automobile gift cost him N3.9 million.

Iloanuwusi, who was in tears of joy, thanked the donor and the VC and added that his success was due to his diligence and hard work.
