Gov. AbdulRazaq Applauds Nigeria Athletes in Ghana and Vows to Boost Sports Investment In Kwara

 

Governor Abdulrahaman Abdulrazaq of Kwara State, showered praise on Nigerian athletes for their outstanding performance at the ongoing 13th All African Games (AAG) in Accra, Ghana.

Impressed by Nigeria’s strong showing, securing the second position in the games, the governor hailed the resilience and competitive spirit displayed by the athletes.

In an exclusive interview with Nigerian journalists at the volleyball event in Accra, Governor Abdulrazaq emphasized the pivotal role of sports investment in fostering national development.

“Investing in sports yields invaluable returns,” remarked the governor, underscoring the significance of channeling resources into athletics.

Governor Abdulrazaq’s commitment to sports development is evident in his administration’s proactive measures. Notably, the state government is actively engaged in enhancing sports infrastructure across Kwara State’s three senatorial zones.

The governor also highlighted ongoing efforts to refurbish the Offa Stadium and extend sports facilities to Lafiaji, underscoring his dedication to fostering sporting excellence at the grassroots level.

In a landmark move, Governor Abdulrazaq announced a substantial investment of N2.5 billion towards upgrading the indoor sports hall. Anticipating its completion, the governor expressed optimism about Kwara State’s potential to host national and international sporting events, positioning the state as a hub for athletic excellence.

“When it is ready, Kwara will be able to host national and international competitions,”Governor Abdulrazaq said.

With Kwara athletes making strides on the global stage, Governor Abdulrazaq reiterated his unwavering support for the state’s sportsmen and women.
