Gov. AbdulRazaq’s Double Impact: N5m for Grieving Family, Empowerment for 359 Entrepreneurs

In a poignant ceremony at the 303 Medium Airlift Group, Nigerian Air Force Base, Ilorin, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq demonstrated unwavering support for those who sacrifice for the nation.

The Governor handed a N5 million cheque to the family of Lance Corporal Goselle Nanpon, a Nigeria Air Force officer who lost his life during an operation earlier this year.

However, Governor AbdulRazaq, expressing condolences, urged the bereaved family to find solace in the meaningful life led by the late NAF officer.

The Commander of 303 Medium Airlift Group, Captain Dan Apyeyak, conveyed gratitude for the Governor’s recognition of the selfless service of men in uniform, emphasizing that the gesture underscores the administration’s commitment to supporting those who bravely serve the nation.

Transitioning seamlessly from this solemn occasion, the Kwara State Government, through the Kwara State Social Investment Programmes (KWASSIP), announced a forward-looking initiative to empower young entrepreneurs in the state.

In a statement released on Tuesday, KWASSIP General Manager Dr Abdulwasiu Olayinka Tejidini revealed that 359 business owners, having successfully completed all qualifying stages, are set to receive non-interest loans under Kwapreneuer 4.0.

Scheduled for Thursday, December 14th, Governor AbdulRazaq will personally present cheques of varying amounts to the 359 successful young businesses. Notably, 10 of these entrepreneurs will pitch for the maximum category, seeking N1,000,000 to N3,000,000 each at the grand finale.

Dr Tejidini emphasized that this initiative is another stride by the government to support enterprise, deepen innovation, and sustainably empower the youth in the state.

The dual commitment showcased by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq – honoring the sacrifice of fallen heroes and empowering the next generation of entrepreneurs – exemplifies a holistic approach to governance, fostering both compassion and economic growth in Kwara State.
