“Gun Duel Ensues as Police Raid Residence of Oyo State’s Sacked Chairman, Auxiliary Escapes”

The Oyo State Police Command has provided an explanation for the raid on the residence of Mukaila Lamidi Auxiliary, the former Chairman of the Disciplinary Committee of Oyo State, which was carried out by the police.

The raid was conducted in response to the dissolution of the house by the Oyo state government.

During a press briefing at the state Command Headquarters in Eleyele Ibadan on Tuesday, the State Police Commissioner, Adebowale Williams, revealed that the command had paraded 78 individuals suspected to be members of the dissolved PMS (Precious Metal Stones) for illegal possession of firearms, ammunition, and other items.

Commissioner Williams stated that the police, being proactive and acting on intelligence-driven surveillance, were able to prevent the attempted action.

He further mentioned that a member of the group was killed in a gunfight, while Alhaji Mukaila Lamidi Auxiliary managed to escape along with some of his associates.
