Herdsmen Kill Evangelist In His Farm In Oyo, Suspects Arrested
A pastor, Evangelist Segun Adegboyega, was brutally killed by three suspected Fulani herdsmen in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, after confronting them for trespassing and destroying his farm.
The incident happened on Tuesday, in Gege area, along Ogbomoso-Iseyin road.
According to PRISTINEGIST, the suspects were apprehended by villagers in the community and taken to the palace of Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Afolabi Ghandi Olaoye. The monarch later handed them over to the police at Owode police headquarter.
The body of the deceased, it was learnt, has been deposited at the mortuary.
Oba Olaoye expressed his condolences to the family and the church of the slain pastor and urged for calm in the community.
He assured the people that he would work with the security agencies to ensure that justice is served and that the perpetrators are brought to book.
He also called on the government to address the issue of insecurity and the menace of herdsmen in the state.
