I Killed Her Because She Can’t Cook Rice: Man Explains Why He Killed Lover

In a shocking revelation that has stunned the community, Nkeruewen Etuk, a 54-year-old man, has confessed to the fatal beating of his lover, Esther Ndereke, over a domestic culinary dispute. The incident, which has sent ripples of horror throughout the nation, occurred after Ms. Ndereke allegedly failed to cook rice to Mr. Etuk’s standards, nearly causing a fire in their apartment.

Etuk, who was detained by the Cross River Police Command, expressed remorse during his parade before reporters, stating he never intended to cause harm to Ms. Ndereke. “The argument over her inability to cook rice properly escalated beyond my control,” Etuk lamented. “It was never my intention to kill her; I was merely infuriated by the potential danger she posed.”

The altercation reportedly took place on Abasi Obori Street in the Calabar South Local Government Area. SP Irene Ugbo, the command’s spokeswoman, confirmed the arrest and detailed the events leading to the tragic outcome. “Following a distress call, our officers promptly responded and found Ms. Ndereke unresponsive,” said Ugbo. “Despite immediate medical intervention, she was declared deceased upon arrival at the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital.”

The police have assured the public that justice will be served as they continue their investigation. “The suspect will face the full weight of the law for his alleged actions,” Ugbo affirmed.

This case has raised serious concerns about domestic violence and the value of human life over trivial disagreements. As the community mourns the loss of Esther Ndereke, a call to action has been sounded to address the underlying issues that lead to such senseless acts of violence.
