IGP Congratulates Nigerian Police Officer For Winning EFC MMA Title

Juliet Ukah Defeats SA’s Crystal Van Wyk, Becomes African Champion in Mixed Martial Arts, a Nigerian Police Force Combat Athlete, made history by beating South Africa’s Crystal Van Wyk, who was undefeated before, in a 3-Round bout at the Extreme Fighting Championship (EFC) 102 event.

The fight happened on Thursday 13th April 2023, in Johannesburg – South Africa.

Juliet dominated the fight and won by Unanimous Decision (30-26, 30-26, 30-27).

Ukah also won against Clodia Vochung Shivabo (IMBGIM FC) of Cameroun on Saturday 22nd April 2023.

She was one of the two Police Female MMA Fighters who got the passion from IGP Usman Alkali Baba, CFR, to go for an aonWeek Professional Training Tour in Thailand.

However, she joined the Force in 2018 and has shown great talent, skill, and passion for excellence over the years.

She has conquered the Boxing, Kickboxing, and now MMA world of Nigeria and Africa.

With this achievement, Juliet Ukah, who has won all 4 Professional Fights (4 wins – 0 loss – 0 ddrawdownsthe African EFC Champion and the Top Challenger for the World EFC Female Straw Weight Title Belt.

The Inspector-General of Police praises the officer for the achievement and recognizes the contributions of the Nigeria Police Force to sports development in the country.

He commended the officer for making the Nigeria Police Force, and by extension, the nation proud.

The IGP also promised to continue to discover and showcase new talents in the Police.
