Chief Ademola Olawoore, the Oluwo of Tede, is in custody for defamation of character. He allegedly insulted Alfa Okutagidi, a Muslim cleric.

The police arrested him in Ibadan on August 19 and took him to Ilorin. He has been in a correctional facility since then.

A video of the shaken Isese activist has gone viral on social media.

He is not the only one facing charges. Adegbola Abdulazeez, another Isese activist, is also in trouble. He defamed the Emir of Ilorin and some clerics.

The police arrested him in Ibadan too and brought him to Ilorin. Kwara Info, a Facebook page, and Adedamola Solesi, a lawyer, confirmed the arrests.

Solesi said he was working to secure their bail. He said they had to wait for the court to hear their preliminary objection.

The Facebook post said, “Oluwo of Tede who claimed Alfa Okutagidi has an Idol at home has been arrested for defamation of character.

“A day after, the blogger who named himself Tani Olohun was arrested.

Details later.”
