JAMB Extends 2024 DE Registration Deadline

In a move aimed at accommodating all candidates interested in Direct Entry (DE) registration, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced a two-week extension to the registration period.

The decision, communicated by JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor, Fabian Benjamin, is intended to address the challenges encountered by candidates during the registration process.

Originally slated to conclude on Thursday, 28th March, 2024, the DE registration commenced on Wednesday, 28th February, 2024. However, recognizing the need for additional time to facilitate smoother registration, the Board has extended the deadline to Thursday, 11th April, 2024.

The extension comes in response to difficulties faced by candidates in navigating the security screening measures implemented to combat the proliferation of fake A’level certificates.

Acknowledging the inconveniences caused, JAMB has pledged to streamline the process, making it more user-friendly moving forward.

While emphasizing its commitment to ensuring the integrity of the registration process, JAMB reiterated its stance against the use of fraudulently acquired certificates.

Candidates whose certificate-issuing institutions are yet to verify their credentials, despite repeated requests, will still be permitted to register.

This extension underscores JAMB’s dedication to equity and accessibility in the education sector, ensuring that all eligible candidates have a fair opportunity to pursue their academic aspirations.
