JUST-IN: EFCC Arrests Former Minister Over ‘N22bn Fraud’

 

Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Arrested former Minister of power, Sale Mamman in connection with an alleged N22billion Fraud.

Mamman, who served as a minister for President Muhammadu Buhari from 2019 to 2021, was imprisoned at the anti-graft agency’s Abuja headquarters after being nabbed early on Wednesday, according to TheCable.

Investigations into alleged wrongdoing in the management of various power projects are related to the arrest.

Mamman is accused of planning to embezzle N22 billion and divide it among himself and other ministry employees who were in charge of the finances for the Zungeru and Mambilla Hydro Electric Power projects.

Millions of dollars and naira have purportedly been recovered, and the investigations turned up assets in Nigeria and abroad that were allegedly connected to the accused.
