Kidnappers’ Accomplice Exposed: Wine Tapper Caught Trying To Smuggle Food For Kidnappers

A palm wine tapper was arrested by the police in Abraka, Delta State, after he was caught trying to smuggle food and other items to kidnappers in a farm.

According to reports, the palm wine tapper, whose name was not disclosed, had been working as an informant and a supplier for the kidnappers, who had been terrorizing the residents of Abraka and its environs.

He was intercepted by a group of vigilant youths on Wednesday evening, as he was carrying a sack containing rice, beans, garri, palm oil, and other items to the farm where the kidnappers were hiding.

The youths, who suspected his movements, accosted him and searched his sack, only to discover that he was carrying food for the kidnappers. They immediately raised an alarm and alerted the police, who arrived at the scene and arrested the suspect.

The police also recovered a mobile phone from the suspect, which contained several calls and messages from the kidnappers, who were demanding for ransom from their victims’ families.

The suspect confessed to the police that he had been working with the kidnappers for some time, and that he was paid a commission for every delivery he made to them.

He also revealed the location of the farm where the kidnappers were hiding, and the police launched a raid on the farm, where they rescued four hostages and arrested three kidnappers.

The police spokesperson, Mr. Okoro, commended the youths for their bravery and cooperation, and urged the public to always report any suspicious activities to the police.

He also warned the kidnappers and their accomplices to desist from their nefarious activities, as the police would not relent in their efforts to rid the state of crime and criminality.
