With just 13 months to the end of Governor Yahaya’s tenure, youths across the 21 local government areas of Kogi State have once again urged Senator Smart Adeyemi representing Kogi west senatorial district at the National Assembly to contest the November 11 governorship election in Kogi State.
While addressing reporters in Lokoja, the youths who came from the three senatorial districts proclaimed that they have decided to call on the three-term Senator to contest for the first seat in the state. Stating that his enviable public track record first as a two-term president of the Nigeria Union of Journalists and again as the most respected Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria assures of his credibility and suitability for the gubernatorial seat.
The youths who came under the aegis of ‘ Kogi Youths for Distinguish Senator Smart Adeyemi (KYDSSA) asserted that Senator Adeyemi does not only represent his west senatorial district but represents the whole state and indeed the North Central region as he has always conducted himself as a fearless and outspoken senator who is always at the side of the masses.
The spokesman of the youths, Comrade Mohamed Ohize Salami in his address stated that the youths will not forget Senator Adeyemi for single-handedly influencing the establishment of the Federal University of Lokoja. He also expressed his efforts at ensuring hundreds of job opportunities are available for the youths in the state.
He further described Senator Adeyemi as a team player who was very loyal to Governor Yahaya Bello, and a man that is selfless, non-controversial, and well acceptable to all the segments of the state.
The youths despite their diverse political affiliations all pulled
their weight on Senator Smart describing him as a beacon of hope for the Kogi Populace.
