Kwara Pilgrims to Fly Tonight After Aircraft Issues Resolved
Ilorin, June 7, 2024 – The Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims’ Board has announced that the last batch of intending pilgrims, originally scheduled to fly on June 6, will now be airlifted tonight, June 7.

The delay occurred due to minor issues detected in one of the aircraft’s wings just before departure. Engineers promptly instructed all passengers to deplane to address the problem in line with strict aviation safety protocols. The repairs are ongoing to ensure full compliance with these standards.

A new aircraft is expected to arrive in Ilorin within a few hours to transport the pilgrims. The board is coordinating with the airline and other stakeholders to ensure the timely airlift of the pilgrims. Officials and state contingent leaders are on-site to provide updates and assistance as needed.

The board has called for patience and cooperation from the pilgrims and their families, emphasizing the belief that all events unfold according to the divine will of Allah for good reasons.

“We ask Allah to ease the situation for all, grant safe travels, and accept the holy pilgrimage of our pilgrims,” said Abdulsalam AbdulKadir, the Executive Secretary of the Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims’ Board.

This latest update underscores the board’s commitment to the safety and well-being of its pilgrims, ensuring that they can embark on their spiritual journey without undue delay.
