Kwara State Scrabble Champions Set to Conquer Global Stage in Thailand

 

In a remarkable achievement for Kwara State, two exceptionally talented Scrabble players, Aliu AbdulQudus Olawale and Sufyan Boluwatife Olojoku, are set to embark on a journey to Thailand to represent Nigeria at the WESPA Youth Scrabble Championship, commencing on December 1.

According to a statement released by Yusuf Feruke, the media officer of Kwara State Sports Commission,
“These young champions earned their spots in the prestigious global event due to their stellar performances at both the All African Youth Championships earlier this year and the recently concluded National Youth Games in Asaba.”

Their prowess on the Scrabble board has not only brought recognition to Kwara State but has also secured them invitations to compete at the world Youth Championships.

Under the leadership of the Sports Commission led by Mallam Bola Mogaji the Kwara State Scrabble team achieved remarkable success at the National Youth Games in Asaba, clinching three gold and one silver medal.

This outstanding performance not only solidified their positions as formidable players but also catapulted them onto the international stage.

As these talented Scrabble enthusiasts prepare to depart for Thailand, they carry not only the weight of their individual achievements but also the hopes and pride of their state and nation.

The Kwara State Sports Commission, under Chairman Bola Mogaji’s leadership, proudly supports and extends its best wishes to Aliu AbdulQudus Olawale and Sufyan Boluwatife Olojoku as they venture forth to compete and bring glory to Nigeria in the world of competitive Scrabble.
