KWASU Appoints Dr. Ibrahim O. Salawu as Sub-Dean of Postgraduate Studies

 

Dr. Ibrahim O. Salawu, a seasoned academic and expert in Politics and Governance, has been appointed as the Sub-Dean of the School of Postgraduate Studies at Kwara State University (KWASU).

The appointment, approved by the Acting Vice-Chancellor, was conveyed in a letter dated March 20, 2024, and signed by the Registrar, Dr. Kikelomo W. Sallee.

Prior to his new role, Dr. Salawu served as the postgraduate program coordinator within the Department of Politics and Governance. With a wealth of experience acquired from the banking and telecommunications sectors, Dr. Salawu transitioned into academia and joined Kwara State University in 2012.

As a senior lecturer, Dr. Salawu has been actively involved in teaching and supervising research projects at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. His dedication and commitment to academic excellence have earned him recognition among students and colleagues alike.

Dr. Salawu’s academic journey is marked by notable achievements. He holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Political Science, obtained in 2002, and a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Political Science, acquired in 2010, both from the University of Ilorin. In 2016, he furthered his academic pursuits by attaining a Ph.D. in Political Science from the International Islamic University, Malaysia.

With his diverse background, expertise, and academic accomplishments, Dr. Ibrahim O. Salawu is poised to make significant contributions to the School of Postgraduate Studies at Kwara State University, furthering its mission of academic excellence and research innovation.
