Kylian Mbappe joins Geoff Hurst as the only men in World cup final history with hat tricks

French superstar Kylian Mbappe has joined English legend Geoff Hurst, as the only professional football players to net three goals in a world cup final.

West Ham and England legend Geoff Hurst had netted a hat trick in the 1966 world cup final against West Germany in a 4 -2 victory to retain the record for 56 years.

Following a 118th-minute equaliser against Argentina in the FIFA World Cup final in Qatar today, Kylian Mbappe would write his name in gold despite putting in a spirited effort and missing out on lifting the world cup.

Lionel Messi and Argentina would clinch the World Cup instead after proving most clinical in a tense penalty shootout.
