A female lawyer, Mrs Omobolanle Raheem, has been shot and killed by a member of the Nigerian Police Force in Ajah, Lagos, on Christmas day.
The deceased was reportedly shot at close range by the yet-to-be-identified policeman.
It was discovered that the victim, who was a member of the Nigerian Bar Association(NBA), was on her way back from church along with her family when tragedy struck under the Ajah bridge near the Ajiwe police station.
However, the supposed killer cop and two other team members have been reportedly apprehended. It was learnt that the police officers were on an extorting spree on motorists and had asked the late lawyer’s husband to park their vehicle before shooting her beside her dazed husband.
Corroborating the incident, the spokesman for the command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, defined the incident as tragic and avoidable.
He confirmed that the suspected shooter and two other team members were in custody and would be transported to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Yaba, for further action.
