Makamz Football Academy emerged triumphant in the highly anticipated 2023 Kwara State Sports Commission U-17 football tournament, seizing the championship on December 28th, 2023.
The decisive moment came when Abdulraheem Abubakar of Makamz scored a crucial goal at the 56th minute, setting the stage for their victory. However, Future Star displayed resilience by equalizing at the 87th minute, intensifying the thrilling finale.
Celebrating outstanding individual performances, Bello Abdulhaqq, the goalkeeper for Makamz, was honored with the title of the tournament’s Best Goalkeeper. Abubakar Bidemi, another standout talent from Makamz, secured the prestigious title of Most Valuable Player of the tournament.
In a post-match interview, Coach Muhammed Oniye expressed his elation, stating, “I feel extremely happy for winning this tournament because it’s the first of its kind to be hosted by the Kwara State Sports Commission.”
He emphasized that the victory was not just about the title but a significant achievement for the entire Makamz family, marking a memorable conclusion to the year 2023.
