Michael Haight, a US father threw his seven-year-old son to the ground and murdered his five children, wife and mother-in-law.

He killed himself after leaving a suicide note saying he was sorry for what he had done.

Haight’s wife reported to caseworkers that she was concerned about his tone and how he looked when he was angry.

She obtained a divorce from him on Dec. 21.

After which, Haight threatened to take his own life or make her life hell.

The caseworkers never interviewed Michael Haight or waited for his wife’s approval for the interview.

Miranda Fisher, a spokesperson for the Department of Child and Family Services, confirmed that the investigators were assessing the process.

The agency released a report acknowledging the tragic incident that occurred before any further intervention of the agency.

New reports show that authorities had previously investigated Haight for child abuse in 2020.

However, the police and prosecutors decided not to charge him.

The documents describe several instances of abuse, including a 2021 highway incident where Haight suddenly slammed on the brakes.

This scared his family and left red marks on the seat belts on their bodies.

In another incident, Haight threw his daughter, Macie, into the hard part of the couch and towered over his children.

Macie, a daughter of Haight, had said her father became violent and react to anything he didn’t appreciate.

Always yelling and wanting to prove he was right.

A search of Michael Haight’s phone revealed that he searched Google by posing the question,

“Can you hear a gunshot in a house?”

He also researched the loudness of 9mm and 40mm guns.

Haight had also taken guns from the home previously, leaving his family unable to defend themselves as reported by relatives.
