Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has dealt the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, a fresh blow ahead of the 2023 Presidential election.
The governor sealed off the Atiku/Okowa presidential campaign office around the Port Harcourt Government Reservation Area (GRA) after shunning a request by the Campaign Management Committee to convert the residential building for campaign purposes.
Meanwhile, Atiku/Okowa supporters in the state have continued to protest the state government’s action as an infringement of the right to freedom of expression.
Human rights activist, Shehu Sani, has termed the development as an unfortunate and wrong turn.
“The report of the sealing of the Atiku Abubakar PDP Presidential campaign office in PH is unfortunate and wrong,” he said on Twitter.
