New Terror Reign: Defence Headquarters to Unveil Names Of  Bandits Sponsorers

The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) is reportedly on the verge of releasing a fresh list of wanted terrorist and bandit leaders, following a successful crackdown on notorious figures previously topping their watchlist. This development comes as a new cadre of criminal masterminds rises to prominence in the wake of their predecessors’ downfall.

In a strategic move back in November 2022, the DHQ had declared 19 bandit leaders wanted, placing a bounty of N5 million on each to spur public cooperation in their capture. The list included infamous names such as Bello Turji from Fakai village and Ali Kachalla, also known as Ali Kawaje, from Kuyambara village, among others.

A reliable source informed  PRISTINEGIST that the military is diligently compiling the new list, which will also feature photographs of the wanted individuals. “The authorities are working on a new list of another wanted terrorist and bandit leaders. It will also contain their pictures. Their lists are being compiled,” the source disclosed, emphasizing the importance of public collaboration in neutralizing these threats.

Maj. Gen. Edward Buba, Director of Defence Media Operations, confirmed the ongoing efforts, assuring that the list will be made public shortly.

The military’s recent operations have seen significant success, with the elimination of several high-profile terrorists and bandit leaders, including a notorious kingpin known as Boderi, linked to multiple high-stakes kidnappings. The period between February 1 and 28, 2024, marked the end of ten terrorist kingpins, further demonstrating the military’s resolve in combating these criminal elements.

As the nation anticipates the release of the new list, the DHQ’s commitment to eradicating terrorism and banditry remains steadfast, with the hope that this latest measure will contribute to the ongoing efforts to restore peace and security.
