Gusau’s visit is part of an elaborate strategic plan orchestrated by Hon Idris Abdullahi Musa, fondly known as ‘Thuraya,’ the FA chairman. The objective is to advance the cause of football and facilitate direct interaction between key stakeholders and the top soccer administrator in the country.

Thuraya emphasized the significance of Kwara’s potential in football, stating, “The NFF president’s visit to the state indicates that the highest echelons of soccer administration have acknowledged our contributions.”

Kwara State has recently gained recognition as a football hub and a breeding ground for emerging soccer talents.

As outlined in the press release by the FA chairman, Gusau’s itinerary includes a townhall meeting at the Indoor Sports Hall of the Kwara State Stadium, fostering dialogue with essential figures in the state’s football community.

On Monday, Gusau, accompanied by the state’s FA, is scheduled to meet with Governor Mall Abdulrahaman Abdulrazaq in a courtesy visit. Subsequently, the football delegation will visit the Emir of Ilorin, HRM Ibrahim Sulu Gambari, at his palace.

Later that evening, the NFF president will participate in the opening ceremony of the prestigious Under-15 Governor’s Cup.

However, This football tournament is fully sponsored by Sen. Sadiq Umar, the senatorial representative of Kwara North, and a fervent sports enthusiast, will feature a trophy presentation, distribution of jerseys to the 16 participating local government teams, and a march-past at the main bowl of the Kwara State Stadium.
