NLO Clarifies Registration and Participation Fees for 2024 Season

In response to recent confusion surrounding registration and participation fees for the 2024 season of the Nationwide League One (NLO), the league’s Secretariat has issued a clarification statement.

According to the Secretariat, the annual club/players registration fee stands at three hundred thousand naira (N300k). This fee covers various essential aspects such as insurance, medicals, affiliation with the NLO, as well as players’ and officials’ licenses. This amount has been approved by the NLO Congress.

Additionally, the participation fee for the league is set at Two Hundred Thousand Naira (N200k). This fee encompasses all expenses related to matches throughout the season, including stadium hire, medicals, security, match officials, ball boys, and host Football Association (FA) expenses.

The Secretariat explained that an earlier proposal to increase the registration fee to N300k was made due to prevailing economic conditions in the country. However, the intervention of a new sponsor of the NLO led to the sponsorship of certain logistics, allowing the NLO Board to retain the participation fee at N200k.

In summary, clubs participating in the 2024 Nationwide League One season are required to pay an annual registration fee of N300k, while the participation fee remains at N200k. Both fees are crucial for the smooth operation of the league and ensuring the welfare of players and officials.

Clubs and stakeholders are urged to adhere to these guidelines and make the necessary payments as the league gears up for an exciting and competitive season ahead.
