No Prophet Married Only One Wife In The Bible – Olatosho Oshoffa
In a candid revelation that has stirred up a theological debate, Olatosho Oshoffa, the progeny of the Celestial Church of Christ’s founder, has openly discussed the church’s stance on polygamy. Oshoffa, who oversees the church’s international headquarters in Ketu, Lagos, has stated that the church does not prohibit polygamous unions.
Defending his father, Bilewu Oshoffa’s, sizable lineage, he pointed to the absence of monogamy among the prophets in the Bible. “Can I tell you something? You see, in that scripture, Paul was only advising,” Oshoffa expressed. He challenged the public to find a single prophet in the scriptures who was limited to one wife.
The late Bilewu Oshoffa, who left behind 13 wives and a brood of 53 children, has become a topic of conversation, with his personal life drawing scrutiny in contrast to his spiritual leadership in one of Nigeria’s prominent Christian denominations.
