NSCDC Unveils Seven Suspected Electric Cable Vandals In Ilorin

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC, unveiled seven suspected electric cable vandals in Ilorin, Kwara State.

The seven suspects were identified as Awal Issa (18), Ibrahim Musa (19), Ibrahim Mohammed (15), Yau Yahaya (19), Aliu Abubakar (24) Sulaiman Abubakar (18), and Musa Adisa (21) by state Commandant Umar J.G Mohammed, who unveiled them.

Also, Yau Yahaya and Musa Ibrahim, a scrab dealer at Tanke Oke Odo area, Ilorin, were alleged to have stolen electric cables at Jalala Quarters of University of Ilorin.

The suspects were apprehended with vandalized electric cables, according to a statement issued by the civil defense corps’s spokeswoman, Ayeni Olasunkanmi, in Ilorin on Wednesday.

The suspect led the patrol to the location of the scrab dealers in the Oke Odo region, where the other five suspects were captured.

According to Umar’s statement, the rate at which government institutions are being damaged is worrying and disturbing.

He said, “In almost all our cities and towns, public facilities which are provided by government were being vandalized by unscrupulous people as soon they have been installed,”.
