Ogun: Police Arrests Serial Killer, Ritualist Reject Bribe

A member of a ritualist syndicate who killed and dismembered one Oyindamola Adeyemi in Ijebu-Ode on January 28 has been detained by the Police Command in Ogun.

In a statement released in Abeokuta on Sunday, the command’s public relations officer, SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, verified this.

According to Oyeyemi, the suspect was detained on Friday in Ijebu-Ode’s Ijade-Iloti neighborhood.

He claimed that the suspect proposed a N1 million bribe to the police officers that detained him but that it was turned down.

Oyeyemi said that other gang members had already been detained.

He added that the culprit was caught after detectives from the Obalende Divisional Headquarters conducted a laborious intelligence-based investigation that led them to his hiding place.

“Deadly couple, six others arrested in Ogun for murder and selling woman’s body parts”The suspect ran out as soon as he heard that he had been referenced by his coworkers because he had been implicated by the earlier detained members of the syndicate as the one who had purchased the victim’s two legs.

Since then, Murphy Salami, the DPO for the Obalende division, has assigned his detectives to track him down in order to apprehend him, maybe recover the deceased’s two legs from him, and bring charges against him and his co-conspirators.

However, he claimed that luck was not on his side when he was captured on April 28 at his Ijade-Iloti hideout.

Oyeyemi continued by saying that the suspect had admitted to being a member of the gang that killed the victim and that he was the one who cut the victim’s two legs, which he said he used in a ceremony.

Olanrewaju Oladimeji, the commissioner of police, had ordered the suspect’s transfer to the state criminal investigations department so that he and other members of his syndicate could be tried together.
