One Dead, Seven Injured In Balogun Market Fire – NEMA

 

According to the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), a five-story structure in Lagos state’s Balogun market caught fire, resulting in the recovery of one dead and seven injuries.

Ibrahim Farinloye, the Lagos territorial coordinator of NEMA, confirmed the casualties on Tuesday, according to News Agency.

The “topmost floor” of the building, where retailers sell shoes, was reportedly hit by the fire, according to our correspondent, which started on Tuesday morning.

According to the Lagos State Fire & Rescue Service (LSFRS), its personnel reacted to the situation and extinguished the fire.

Farinloye further stated that four people were detained for shoplifting valuables.

It was the second market fire to occur in the state in recent weeks.
