Chief Abiodun Ojo, a prominent figure within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has officially endorsed Alhaji Usman Ododo, the candidate representing the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), for the upcoming governorship election in Kogi State on November 11th.
Chief Ojo, who previously served as the Finance Commissioner in the state, expressed his support for Alhaji Usman Ododo, recognizing him as a formidable contender in the election and applauding the decision to back him.
During an event held at his residence in Egbeda Egga, Chief Ojo handed over his substantial group of supporters from both within and outside Ijumu local government to the APC.
However, he emphasized that this event followed a prior visit by Ododo to his residence in Lokoja in June.
Chief Ojo stated that he is fully committed to working diligently to ensure the resounding victory of the ruling party.
He further explained that this visit was crucial as Alhaji Ododo is a prominent candidate in the upcoming election and he encouraged Ododo to engage with his supporters directly.
Alhaji Ododo, the APC’s gubernatorial candidate, visited Chief Abiodun Ojo to personally express gratitude for the endorsement.
Alhaji Ododo pledged his dedication to the state’s development and unity, building upon the achievements of Governor Yahaya Bello. He also made it clear that he highly values Chief Ojo’s counsel and wisdom.
Pharmacist Abdulkareem Asuku, Chief of Staff to the Governor, commended Chief Abiodun Ojo’s non-contentious approach to politics and sought his support beyond Ijumu Local Government. Pharmacist Asuku expressed optimism about the APC’s prospects in the election due to their strong candidate.
Alhaji Ododo also visited the Olujumu of Ijumu Kingdom, where members of the Ijumu Local Government Traditional Council offered their prayers for his success in the upcoming election.
He assured the monarchs of his commitment to respecting and prioritizing traditional institutions.
Furthermore, Chief Victor Omofaiye, the Commissioner of Environment, highlighted the united front of the APC in Ijumu.
He affirmed the party’s readiness to rally support for Alhaji Usman Ododo, aiming to continue the positive trajectory set by Governor Yahaya Bello’s administration.
