Real Madrid ‘Invites’ Asensio To leave

The future of Marco Asensio at Real Madrid presents more clouds than clear. The white club presented him with a low renewal offer a few months ago that the Balearic attacker has not yet accepted as he does not like it, according to Marca.

Asensio, whose contract ends on June 30, intends to continue wearing the Merengue shirt, but the negotiations are still without progress. The white club’s proposal contemplates paying him around half a million euros less than the amount he receives in his current contract, close to four clean ‘kilos’ per year.

Real Madrid understands that his substitute role cannot be reflected in an increase in salaries. Asensio intends to see his salary increased by about six million euros net per season.

It should be noted that Asensio has been a substitute, without playing for a single minute, in the last two official matches for Real Madrid. In the first leg of the Cup semifinals, against Barça at the Bernabéu, he warmed up but Ancelotti did not give him a start, something that was repeated later in the League match last weekend against Betis at the Benito Villamarín.

This season, up to 14 Real Madrid field players have had greater participation than the Spaniard, who accumulates a total of 1,141 minutes in which he has managed to score half a dozen goals, four in La Liga and two in the Champions League.
