Senator Oyelola Ashiru Orders Immediate Action on Gbomi Collapsed Bridge, Failed Offa-Ojoku Road Section

In a swift response to growing public concern, Senator Oyelola Yisa Ashiru, representing Kwara South Senatorial District and serving as the Nigerian Deputy Senate Leader, has mandated immediate action to address the collapsed Gbomi bridge and the deteriorating section of Offa-Ojoku road.

The Gbomi bridge, situated just after the Kwara State College of Health Technology on the route to the Federal Polytechnic Offa’s permanent site, is a crucial artery for commuters and travelers. Its condition has raised alarms due to its critical role in connecting major institutions, including the Federal Polytechnic Offa, Kwara State College of Health, Mopol Barrack, Offa Divisional Police Station, NSCDC Area Command, and One Innovation Hub, Offa.

In response, Senator Ashiru has instructed his public facilities aides to coordinate with Offa engineers to implement urgent palliative measures. Engr. Bello Ismail, Director of Project Facilities, led a technical team to thoroughly assess the damaged road portion. A detailed technical and financial report is expected to be submitted to Senator Ashiru’s office promptly.

In the interim, the public is advised to exercise caution while using the affected road until the palliative work is completed.

Senator Ashiru, known for his transformative initiatives, reaffirmed his commitment to people-centered representation and inclusive development. He assured constituents that his efforts would remain steadfast in addressing infrastructure challenges and enhancing community welfare.
