Sex, Lies and Murder: How a Brothel Owner Dumped the Body of a Famous Socialite in Akure
The mystery surrounding the death of Sunday Bayo, a well-known socialite in Akure, has been solved by the police, who revealed that he died in a brothel after having sex with his mistress.
Bayo, who was popularly known as ‘Saybayo’, was found dead in his car in a residential estate in Ijapo, a few weeks before Christmas last year. His body was covered in blood and his face was disfigured, sparking rumours that he was assassinated by political enemies.
However, the police have dismissed the speculation and said that Bayo died of natural causes, possibly a heart attack, after engaging in a sexual act with his lover, Atinuke Adeniyi, at a brothel owned by Adeojo Ilesanmi.
According to the police spokesperson, Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, the SWAT team arrested Adeniyi, who confessed that she and Bayo had a romantic relationship and that they visited the brothel on the 9th of December, the day before his body was discovered.
She said that Bayo started convulsing after they had sex and that she panicked and fled the room, leaving him behind. She also led the police to the brothel, where Ilesanmi was apprehended.
Ilesanmi admitted that he was the one who drove Bayo’s car to the estate and dumped his body there, fearing that he would be implicated in his death. He said that he did not know the cause of Bayo’s death and that he only wanted to get rid of the corpse.
The police said that they are still investigating the case and that the suspects will be charged to court after the completion of their findings. They also warned the public to be careful of the activities of brothels and other illicit businesses in the state.
