Sex-starved Women Take To The Streets In Rivers

A group of women in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, staged a protest on Tuesday against the poor power supply in their area, which they said had affected their marital intimacy.

The women, who were mostly married, carried placards with various messages, such as ‘We lack romance with our husbands,’ ‘Our husbands no longer touch us at night,’ and ‘PHED help us to sleep well with our husbands’.

They marched to the office of the Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company (PHED) near the Isaac Adaka Boro Park and blocked the entrance, demanding an improvement in the electricity situation.

The protesters said they were tired of the heat and the lack of ventilation in their homes, which made it difficult for them and their husbands to enjoy their conjugal rights.

They also accused PHED of extorting them with high bills without providing adequate service.

The women sang and chanted slogans to express their frustration and dissatisfaction with the power company and the government.

They vowed to continue their protest until their demands were met.

The PHED officials could not be reached for comment as at the time of filing this report.
