SHOCKING: Lady Lured From Calabar By Facebook Scammer, Raped And Abandoned In Hotel

A young lady has narrated how she fell victim to a Facebook scammer who promised to help her with her accommodation issues in school, but ended up raping her and leaving her stranded in a hotel in Umuahia, Abia State.

The lady, who preferred to remain anonymous, said she made a post on her Facebook page about her need for a new place to stay in Calabar, Cross River State, where she is a student.

She said a man named Orjiako Emmanuel, who claimed to be a businessman based in Umuahia, contacted her via direct message and offered to help her with the rent money.

He asked her to delete the post and travel to Umuahia with her own transport fare, saying he would reimburse her and give her the money for the rent when she arrived.

The lady said she trusted him and traveled to Umuahia two days later, only to be disappointed by his lies and deceit.

She said he told her to lodge in a hotel and wait for him, as he had an emergency to attend to. She said she managed to pay a deposit for the room and informed the receptionist that her host would pay the balance later.

She said he showed up at night with only bread and milk, and forced her to have sex with him, taking advantage of her vulnerability.

She said he left the hotel around 4am, claiming he had another emergency, and never returned.

She said he blocked her on Facebook and on his phone, and left her with no money, no food, and no way to return to Calabar.

She said she was stuck in the hotel for two days, until a good Samaritan helped her to contact her family and friends, who sent her some money to travel back.

She said she was traumatized by the ordeal and wanted to expose the scammer and warn other ladies to be careful of such people online.

She said she had reported the incident to the police and hoped that justice would be done.

She shared his phone number and some screenshots of their conversation as proof of his identity and his actions.

She said he should be famous by force and urged anyone who knows him or his whereabouts to report him to the authorities.

She said nobody deserves to be treated like that, and advised ladies to be wary of strangers who offer help online.
